The Fund-Raiser Party

On Saturday night, October 22nd we had a fund-raiser party. On the walls were posted a year's calendar, and as people came in the door, they selected the day(s) which they wanted to buy lunch for the children at the Vihiga Children's Home. Then at the party the appetizers and drinks were provided. It was a fantastic party and surpassed our goals of fund-raising. We had door prizes and auctioned off some large prizes. It was a great group of people, their generosity was amazing. Some people who couldn't come to the party donated through our website (link on main page of this blog). As well, we are selling Christmas gift cards whereby people can buy lunch for the children as a gift for someone else. This sold as well, adding to the fund-raising efforts. So all in all, we are very happy with what we have raised and can bring to the different organizations in Kenya.
